Fire, fire!

Have you seen these?

My sweet friend Kristen has one on her back patio and it is picturesque. Brian and I argue about whether or not it would be safe on our wooden deck. He says no, but I personally think there is a way around everything. HGTV's Designed to Sell put bricks underneath one to keep it from being a fire hazard and it looked great and served its purpose. I will just have to keep working on Brian.

With a complete change of subject, I want to ask your opinion. I have recently been invited to SEVERAL wedding showers of girls that I know, but not so well- daughters of friends of my MIL's. I love buying gifts that are unique and fun, but are not necessarily on the registry. Does anyone have a suggestion of a fun, reasonably priced gift that might be appropriate for these ladies? I have been racking my brain and have come up with nothing. Any ideas would be glorious!

Have a blessed week my friends!

A lesson in words.

Procrastinate-
Verb. To defer action; delay.

Synonyms for the word procrastinate-
Shilly-shally-
Verb. To waste time; dwadle.
Cunctation-
Noun. Delay; tardiness.
Dilatory-
Adjective. Tending to delay or procrastinate; slow; tardy.
Generally, none of these words describe me. I like to be places at least 5 min. early. I like to have my classroom finished in June so I won't have to worry about it in July. I like to finish my school work on Tuesday so I don't have to worry about it the rest of the week. Graduate school has changed that. I don't handle it well, but it certainly keeps things interesting.
Happy Sunday friends.

Table Love

Introducing.... our dining room table!

We LOVE it and can't wait to have people over for dinner to use it :)

In other news, the Blockbuster by our house is going out of business. We purchased The Office Season 1 and 3 disks of Season 2 for under $30. Our Tuesday night marathon has now moved to other nights of the week. I just adore Pam and Jim.

Have a blessed and wonderful Easter evening my friends!

Christ is Risen!

He is Risen!

*On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you at Galilee: The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.*

Luke 24: 1-7
The Lord has risen!
Happy Resurrection Day my friends!
