Wisdom from a child

I was recently at a friend's house when her four year old daughter walked into the room. I was talking to her about the things I often talk to four year olds about- her day, her little brother, her favorite color.. and I casually mentioned that I LOVED the color pink.
She looked at me with her serious 4 year old eyes and said..
"We DON'T love things, we only love God and people."
Whoa, back up. At first I was shocked. Then I was amazed.
I can easily think of 10 times in the past week that I used the phrase *I love...* And not just with God or Brian or even my friends, but with things- the school's crispitos, Auburn football, a flip camera, or Harry Potter.
But when my exageration takes over everything, where does my *true love* come into play? Am I so focused on the things of the world that I don't even verbally differentiate between the worldly things that I like and the God that I love?
*This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.*
1 John 3:16
*We love because He first loved us.*
1 John 4:19
*By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.*
John 13:35
How incredible that God can speak through a 4-year old.
He is good, all the time.

Garfield lives in my garage.

I am a big fan of cats. Aside from my time in Auburn and our first nine months of marriage, I have never NOT had a cat. I like their independence and spunkiness. I like the fact that they can sleep in any situation.
But several months ago, we were visited by an orange beast that almost changed my thoughts on cats completely. This cat would come through Bodie's cat door, eat Bodie's food, mark his (and we KNOW it was a HE) territory, beat Bodie up, then leave.

It got to the point we couldn't put things in our garage anymore because of the marking problem and Bodie was afraid to go outside. Not good.

Brian and I finally got fed up. I still liked cats too much to call animal control, so we took matters into our own hands. We used my parent's squirrel cage to trap the cat, then brought him to a lake several miles and a major highway away for him to torture some other cat loving family.

And we lived peacefully.

For a month.

Wednesday night, we got home from church and three cats ran from our garage. Three. One of them was orange.

This morning, we got home from church and an orange cat ran from the garage.

He's back.

We are at a loss on what to do at this point.
My hope is to catch him, fix him, and pray his aggression goes away.
Brian's plan involves a gun.
Surely we will come to a compromise.

Sunday Morning Breakfast

Every month or so, Brian and I are signed up to take breakfast for our Sunday School class. We sign-up pretty far in advance, so when the time comes to bring breakfast, we normally remember at 11:30 the Saturday night before, or worse, 7:30 the morning of. When we finally realize we need to bring breakfast, it is too late to shop, so we end up at Krispy Kreme, spending WAY more than we need to.

Today was our day and we were determined to not fall into the same rut.

My mom had mentioned a good casserolish bfast that would be great, so I got it from her yesterday.

Folks, it was *AWESOME* We made two 9x13s and came home with NoThInG. I was kind of hoping for some left overs for the week, but no such luck. That's okay though! It was scrumptious!

Need a good breakfast recipe? Try this out! :)

Sausage and Cheese Crescent Squares
Ingredients
2 cans Pillsbury Refridgerated Crescent Dinner Rolls
1 lb. hot or mild bulk pork sausage (Since we made a double batch, we mixed hot and mild- it was the perfect spicyness)
1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese
8 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Cayenne pepper

Heat the oven to 375*. Unroll 1 can of dough into a long rectangles. Place in ungreased 13 by 9 in glass baking dish; press over bottom and 1/2 in. up on the side to form a crust. Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Remove sausage from skillet; discard drippings. Add cream cheese to same skillet. Cook over low heat until melted. Add cooked sausage and stir to coat. Spoon evenly over the crust in the baking dish. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Unroll the second can of dough on work surface. Press to form a 9x13 rectangle. Carefully place over the cheese. Sprinkle cayenne on top by preference.

Bake at 375* for 21 to 26 minutes. Cool 15 minutes before cutting into squares.

Have a blessed Sunday my friends!
