A fall alternative to flowers

My sweet friend Elizabeth recently got a new job. This is something she has been looking forward to basically since I have known her, so I wanted to help her celebrate. 

Only I had Dave whispering in my ear- budget Ashley, budget!

Stupid (but oh so smart) Dave.

After school on Wednesday, I went to Western with the purpose of buying a cupcake. 

I walked out with a pumpkin.

You can't deny, they are just cute. And appropriate for fall!

It wasn't much, but I thought it turned out cute!

Gifted- A Women's Ministry Christmas Event

This fall, I have been blessed to work with several ladies from the women's ministry at my church to plan our holiday event. The theme is Gifted, focusing on the gifts God has given us and how we use them to glorify Him. We will have demonstrations with directions, provide desserts with recipes, and have vendors from our church selling homemade crafts. On top of that, we have two wonderful women speaking about the gifts God has given them specifically and share the Word. 

Basically, I can't wait.

Dave Ramsey

Brian and I are going through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace seminar at our church right now. 

When it comes to finances, boy howdy, does he know his stuff!

Over the past several weeks, we have seen several areas we need to focus on to gain a better hold of our budget. Part of this includes his envelope system. (I can't lie, sometimes I get debit swipe happy and forget to document- oops!)

So, I have been itching to create something with my Cricut and found a great pattern for different sized envelopes. I have seen several cute Dave Ramsey envelopes in various places online and decided to create envelopes of my own! I picked my favorite paper from my endless supply of scrapbook paper, chose letter colors, cut, laminated, and voila!

I'm not sure how well they will hold up, but right now, they are making me want to save money.

Or at least use cash.
