I got a feeling...

Tonight, after I finished my school work, I laid down on the couch for a few minutes and began to feel this funny jump in my stomach. At first I thought it was gas, but when I put pressure on the spot where I felt it, and it kicked back! Emily Ann kicked me consistently for about 30 minutes, then chilled out a bit. I loved it and can't wait for Brian to feel it. It makes me love my little girl just a little bit more. I can't wait until September!

In other news, as many of you have heard, central Alabama had really terrible weather through the day yesterday. So far, there are over two hundred confirmed dead and at one point today, a million people without power. We were blessed to have missed the storm, but the destruction surrounding the area is incredible. Thank you for the prayers and please continue to pray for the people who have lost their homes, lost family members, and who's lives are in total disarray. It is going to be a long road to recovery.

Have a great night! It's almost the weekend!

Bodie

Tonight, as we were eating dinner, our cat ate broccoli. Ate isn't really an appropriate word, devoured might be better.
And now she is sleeping peacefully beside me.

Our growing collection...

Over the course of the past five months, I have been drawn to all things baby. Shopping is one of my favorite hobbies and because of my ever growing waistline, shopping for me is out of the question.

Emily Ann, on the other hand, is developing quite a collection of adorable things.

Hopefully I will temper that as I get further along,  but right now I am really enjoying it!

This is Clover, the cute little cow we found in a gift shop in Savannah. The only souvenir from the trip that didn't include food. :)

Our Jesus storybook Bible. Our friend Maegan mentioned it when we were talking about babies. She said that every story, including Old Testament, tied back to Jesus and our Savior. I can't wait for our storytime!

This little puppet was a gift from a student in my class. It is super soft and came with a precious note.

I have a tiny obsession with Ralph Lauren. The little horse makes me smile. These are EA's Ralph outfits so far.

I bought this before I knew Emily Ann was a girl. I plan to match it with a cute little denim skirt and a hair bow to make it girly.

We got the Auburn bib at Cracker Barrel when we were 6 wks pregnant. The other one was a congrats gift from Rebecca :) I can't wait to see EA in it!

Right after we found out EA was a girl, Brian took a lunch break around Target. He came home with this cute little bird that stretches and vibrates. He likes playing with it as much as Emily Ann will.

Finally, I bought this onsie last night at Target. We have found Mommy outfits all over the place, but have really had a hard time finding Daddy ones. I feel sure that EA will be a Daddy's girl and it is wonderful how much he already loves her, so I couldn't resist buying it!

Brian put our crib together last Thursday night. It looks awesome! Scott and Kevin, Brian's brothers, came over tonight for dinner, so they helped us situate the room to my liking. Next stop, purchasing bedding and considering wall decor! I can't wait to post the final pics!

Have a blessed evening my friends!

Baby J- Week 20

Here's the weekly update! I am a couple of weeks behind- sorry!

How far along? 20 weeks, 5 days.

Baby Bump? Yup!

Maternity clothes? Pants, yes, but not shirts. Hopefully I have a little while longer in those :)

Total weight gain: As of today immediately after lunch, I had gained 2 lbs, so I am holding pretty steady at -2 or -3 lbs.

Cravings: Nothing really recently. Mexican food sounds incredible, but I would probably say that if I wasn't pregnant. Who doesn't love cheese dip?

Symptoms: Some random yuk things and consistent hunger.

Sleep: Sleeping well!

Movement: I think so. It's about the same time each day and feels like something fluttering.  I wish she would kick me hard. Maybe I will change my mind about that when it actually starts happening, but I really want to feel her consistently!

Gender: We are having a little girl! Emily Ann!

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach. At one point last week, my arm started hurting. I decided it was because I sleep on the same side every night. Which is coincidently my right side, which is among the list of three sides I can't sleep on! Who made these rule!?

Best moment this week: Purchasing our crib and mattress on Friday night after the storm. It should be here in about 2-3 weeks. And even though this wasn't this week, I am still reeling over the fact she's a girl and I can look at her adorable profile any time I want through our ultrasound pictures.

Wasting time and loving it!

Right now, I am having a very difficult time focusing on work- both graduate work and school work. I would much rather look at all the great blog posts, explore websites, register for baby gear, and plan the nursery than do school work. With all that said, I have found some really great things while avoiding school work over the past couple of days!

A teacher at school introduced me to this website. I thought it would be like Groupon or Living Social, which I really like, but no, it is way WAY better. It gives deals for women and children. Emily Ann has already gotten an absolutely adorable outfit and Brian and I have gotten a awesome deal on a 16x20 photo canvas. I can't wait for the new deals to be posted each morning. It is getting to be a problem.

Great nurseries.

I adore this nursery, but I have no idea where I found these picture. If this is your nursery, I am not trying to plagiarize, I just love it!!!
The simple set up with the classic and classy colors are similar to what we are using in ours. It makes me want to go out and buy a new cute light fixture, a closet organizer, and add some of those little flag things.

Brittney at Far More Than Rubies introduced me to this awesome store when she was showing off her precious nursery. I have been very torn by what bedding to use in our nursery and think I may have found my best bet here. I would love to share, but will have to leave you hanging :)

Reese's Peanut Butter eggs.
Mexican food with a nice side of cheese dip.
Caffeine free Coca-Cola Classic.

We're having a........

Last Thursday, Brian and I had our monthly appointment. I have been looking forward to this appointment since the first appointment! Going in to the ultrasound, I was so nervous. I would be happy with a boy or a girl, but my worst fear was that they wouldn't be able to tell exactly and I would have to live in wonder for the rest of the pregnancy.

I adore ultrasounds. Right now I feel significantly not pregnant. I am feeling great and am able to stay up late. Even though I'm showing, it is more of that uncomfortable *ouch, my pants are too tight* than the obvious *wow, she's preggo.* I may or may not be feeling the baby move yet, so basically I feel like a more sensitive version of the normal Ashley.

But ultrasounds are glorious. That fabulous tech was able to show us our baby's heart with four chambers, brain, spine, kidneys, hands with five fingers, a flexed foot, adorable profile and cute little bottom!

And what's more, that awesome tech was able to tell us that we are having...

a little girl!!!!
Emily Ann Johnson will be joining our family in early September!!

Basically, we can't wait :)

Check it out, she's waving hello to everyone!

Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the big day!
I am excited. I am nervous. I am about to go stir crazy!
Please pray for us as we head to the appointment tomorrow. Please pray for our baby's health and that the appointment and ultrasound go great. Also, on a less serious, but still truthful note, please pray that our baby "shows" off! I want our child to know that "modest is hottest" but I would prefer for him/her to wait until Friday for that.

If you haven't voted on the gender, time is running out! I will have a "gender reveal" on Sunday!!

Roll On...

Last Saturday was a major milestone in our life... we purchased a new car!!
Well, new to us.

Saturday night we became the proud owners of a 2008 Toyota Highlander. The mileage was great and the price was just right! We are now able to travel with up to 7 people anywhere we want to go. Yay for third row!

Isn't she a beauty? I can't wait to put Baby J in it!
We are super excited and blessed!!

Have a fabulous night!!
