Baby J- Week 30

How far along? 30 weeks, 4 days

Baby Bump? Yup!

Maternity clothes? Yes. Still in regular shirts, but truly enjoying the stretchiness of maternity pants.

Total weight gain: 3 pounds. This fact truly shocks me. When I am NOT pregnant, I gain weight by looking at food and THINKING about food. I think my body is confused, but the doctor says she's not worried, so I am trusting her.

Cravings: Anything sweet. I would love a nice piece of birthday cake.

Symptoms: Swollen fingers, lower back pains when I start cleaning the house :), random gross stuff that's probably not appropriate for the ol' blog.

Sleep: Sleep has been great so far (knock on wood). I get really hot if we don't have both the overhead fan and my little personal pregnancy fan (a thoughtful and necessary happy day surprise from the hus) on through the whole night. Two nights ago I just turned on the overhead and I just about melted.

Movement: She has been pretty active lately. She gets the hiccups all the time. It cracks me up.

Gender: We are having a little girl! Emily Ann!

Belly Button in or out? In, but getting thinner.

What I miss: My wedding and engagement rings :( Also, I am still limiting my sweet intake, so I miss not having to think about what I'm eating all the time.

Best moment this week: Friday night! Our wonderful and amazing and incredible Sunday school class threw us a baby shower! It was so much fun. Sadly, I didn't take pictures but they did a bird theme. The decorations were ADORABLE and the food was delicious. Just saying, but I might have eaten a bird's nest coconut cupcake *YUM.* This class has been such a blessing to us over the past four years and I am have no idea what we would do without their spiritual guidance, friendship, accountability, advice, love, and so much more. They are simply the best and we are so incredibly thankful for them!

Here are some pictures of our class, or parts of our class, over the past few years...
I realized as I was uploading these that I lost a lot of our really old ones when my old computer crashed, so there are so many more people, both old and new, that I wish I could include in these pictures, but you get the idea.

The possibility of early labor

July 15, 2011.
I. can't. wait.

6/19/11

Call me a bird, because I'm nesting!

Yesterday was my comps to begin concluding graduate school. Never in my life have I been so stressed about a test. Seriously, who do they think they are helping? Results should be back in a little less than a month. I think I did okay, but who knows really? I loathe tests.

With all the test preparation, the build-up to redecorate my house and finish the nursery has been KILLING me! Brian has blamed my intent to redecorate, finish the nursery, clean out the closets, and declutter altogether on nesting. At first I denied it, but the more I think about it, the more I think he's right.

Here are some projects I am looking forward to now that I am free from test anxiety!

A magnet board
I love the galvanized metal look and am dying to use it SOMEWHERE in the house. I am hoping for a bit of a thicker frame, but all in all, you get the idea.  I found this one at Seed Pod Craft. It gives awesome directions!

Alphabet and number painting
I can't get enough of this letter / number combo! I plan to put something similar in the nursery, but think I am going to change the colors to match the bedding. So perfect!

A monogram for above the crib
I linked this because there are so many different looks that I like, I could not post just one. I know I will use three canvases and the colors will match the bedding. Beyond that, I'm clueless.... and indecisive!

I am also anxious to start shopping for nursery rugs. I love this look, but not necessarily the price. Rugs can be so expensive!

Finally, I have been completely distracted by these...

How precious is this picture? I can't wait to see Emily Ann's adorable toes. And I might just try to take a similar picture :) Such a great polish color!

and these...

What a great way to dress up a white onsie!

and these!

I am picturing hairbows, accents on paintings, magnets for my new metal magnet board... The possibilities are endless!

What summer projects are YOU working on?
Have a fabulous evening!

Baby J- Week 28

Woo hoo! Welcome 3rd trimester! I can't believe it is 8 weeks until I am full term and 12 until she is here!
I simply can not wait to meet her!

How far along? 28 weeks

Baby Bump? Yup!

Maternity clothes? Yes. Still in regular shirts, but there is no chance of any of my regular pants fitting :)

Total weight gain: At last weeks doctors appointment, I had gained 3 pounds. I am thinking between 4 and 5 now, but who knows... we need to invest in a scale battery.

Cravings: Nothing really, but I have been eating a lot of peanut butter lately. If you see a large jar of Jif walking down the street, recognize that it is me, and stop and say hello.

Symptoms: My fingers are pretty swollen so I have retired to a more simple, much larger "wedding band" for the time being. TMI, but my bathroom frequency is increasing as well, though I am still making it through the night... or through most of the night.

Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good. Even though I have slept with two pillows for years, I am finally learning how to use both of them for my comfort :)

Movement: She moves, just not as frequently as I would like. My favorite was when I was sitting at Bible study on Tuesday and she kick/punched my ribs and my bladder at the exact same time. I would love to know her exact measurements right now because that takes some talent and some length!

Gender: We are having a little girl! Emily Ann!

Belly Button in or out? In.

What I miss: I have recently had to limit my sweet intake :( so right now, Coke and sweet tea, though I must admit, Publix brand Splenda tea is pretty good.

Best moment this week: It was probably at my doctors appt last week when she kicked me while we were listening to her heart beat. It was kind of loud and kind of funny. She likes to state her opinion.

Happy Friday my friends!

6/7/11

Totally feeling it.

I am officially one week into my summer semester and the last semester of graduate school.
It stinks.

6/3/11

Wish I could live in the Smoky Mountains...

Summer has definitely soared in! I can not believe the temperatures and can't imagine what it will be like in mid-August!
With that said, the first several days of summer have been wonderful! Brian and I went to the Gatlinburg area with his family for Memorial Day weekend. He enjoyed fishing with his dad and brothers while I went shopping with his mom. We also played lots of games and spent great quality time together as a group! It was so much fun!

Brian fishing- it is amazing to me that he can't get in cold ocean water or hot bath water, but he can stand in a river that was FREEZING for hours at a time. There is something not right about that.

All of the fishermen.

I realized during our trip that I must curve my interest in shopping for Emily Ann. After buying SEVERAL outfits from the outlets and a cute little stuff black bear, I am beginning to think I have a shopping problem! And she's not even here yet. At least she will look cute when she is!

Have a wonderful Friday friends!
